The design for this landscape was conceived during the lockdown. Not able to visit the site physically communication and adaptability were key to the success of this project. The site was a bleak clay embanked space with poor drainage. Bone dry in summer sopping wet in winter. This Japanese Themed garden uses locally sourced limestone wall to increase the courtyard space. Garapa timber creates a warm contrast and an element of softness. The ceramic paving breaks up the expanse of decking creating a balance between hard and soft materials.
