Landscape Architect in Whangarei
JD Landscape Architecture is a locally owned and operated landscape design business, started in January 2015.
James was keen to incorporate living in the country with his passion for landscape design and work as a landscape architect. His passion for nature sets a unique focus on his design work. His approach to design takes into account nature’s developments and will make your garden even look better with time.
JD Landscape Architecture believes in its motto, and strives to create ‘landscapes for living’. As James is very passionate about the outdoors and maximising the use and enjoyment of the landscape, JDLA hopes that they can help others to get the same enjoyment out of their landscapes as well.
With a strong passion for landscape design, James looks at every landscape as a unique and new opportunity to create something tailor made for the owner. He understands that everyone is unique and has different tastes and requirements.
Andrea Schmid
Upon completing her Master of Science and Course in Landscape Architecture in Germany, Andrea came to NZ to explore travel and work opportunities.
When she met her current partner, David, she decided to settle here in Northland, contracting her services to Carl Pickens Landscape Architects. In 2018 she joined JDLA, and our clients have benefited from her ability to bring her understanding of natural landscapes and human needs together.
Passionate about working with native and European plants, Andrea is dedicated to creating sustainable concepts that form a balance between nature and her clients needs.
Amy Horn
After graduating with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies in Landscape Architecture from Victoria University, Amy has made her way north to her hometown of Whangarei.
Victoria allowed Amy to explore many scales of landscape design, where Amy found her passion in developing outdoor living areas that assist in creating spaces for people to connect to others and the natural environment, through planting, detail, and design.
Amy joined JDLA in 2023 and looks forward to applying and continuing this learning on different scales.
